Supplier Inspection -  PDA's and Cell Phone Production

AMREP has quality inspection teams located in Mexico, South Korea and China working on quality problems. PDAs and cell phones are merging into one product. AMREP has 30 quality inspectors, engineers and technical specialists working in selected factories in these countries. Our primary tasks are to look at component quality, program functions, reliability, usability, cosmetics appearances and reworks. Some of the work is for direct customers who need quality assurrance from the supplier. Some suppliers require AMREP to be the final inspector of "good manufacturing practices" for their customers and pay for our services. Some work is done for customer's who have their own overseas factories but whose manufacturing quality does not satisfy their own distribution center.

Examples:

• One customer's factory in China was ISO 9001/9002 certified. However its US incoming inspection at the Distribution center was facing 60% rejects.
• One manufacturer had its cell factory in Chihuahua, Mexico. However, their receiving Distribution Center in the US had so many quality problems that they decided to send in 15 AMREP Supplier Inspection Personnels to sort out the quality problems because their factory personnel could never reduce the quality problems.
